The United Earth Space Probe Agency, UESPA for short, was formed in 2067 by merging several former space agencies into one organisation. UESPA fast tracked early space exploration launching the Friendship series of probes, early manned exploration of primitive explorers including the S.S. Valiant and her sister ships and deep range colony missions like the Terra Nova expedition.

 

Over the next several decades, the UESPA was the sole united space organization of Earth and cooperated often in missions with old nation state space forces until the formation of a United Earth government in 2093 and the merging of these forces with the UESPA.

 

By the early 22nd century, UESPA was one of only two space organisations, the other being the United Earth Stellar Navy (UESN). UESPA was responsible for space exploration while UESN was tasked with the military role of protecting Earth and her colonies.

 

UESPA and UESN would cooperate in deep space exploration missions together, with a UESN officers assigned to UESPA vessels as tactical and security officers however UESPA has full jurisdiction over the mission and vessel.
