The Romulan Star Empire, is the official state and body of government for the Romulan people and occupies an area of space in the beta quadrant. Founded by the Romulan people around 400AD, the Star Empire is one of the oldest Empires in recorded history.

 

Traditionally an aristocracy society, in recent years the Empire has become a more equal society having formed alliances and intergrating these species into their Empire after the formation of the Coalition in 2155.

 

Leaving Vulcan, some 2,000 years ago, the Romulan people have become a highly prideful people who are not affraid of hardship. Their desire not to be controlled or dominated comes from their ancient past on Vulcan during a period of time the Vulcans call the "Time of Awakening".

 

Biologically the Romulans are still genetically Vulcan, but have lost their Vulcan strength, telepathically and mating characterists. But what they have lost during their journey to Romulus they have made up for their keen tactical mind and cunning behaviour cuasing them to become renown in combat.

 

The Romulan Star Empire after the rising threat from a species known as Humans, put in a plan to defend themselves from the conquering species encroaching upon their territory.
